nobody is out here trying to hand Magnifi Gramarye a father of the year award (I hope), but I’m genuinely reeling over just how incredibly awful he actually is.
Because amnesiac Thalassa didn’t just ‘magically’ disappear to a different country. How could she?
Magnifi Gramarye knew that his daughter was alive– he was the only person who did.
And Magnifi Gramaye deliberately exiled his newly amnesiac–his newly disabled– daughter, in a foreign country, and left her there.
And he told everyone who cared about her that she was dead. He let Zak and Valant believe that they had killed a woman in order to exert control over them.
And he exiled his own disabled daughter to do it.
And it’s even worse when we think about how easily Phoenix Wright was able to bring Thalassa’s memory back.
If Magnifi Gramarye had kept his daughter in his family instead of exiling her in order to control his magician troupe, she could have regained her memory perhaps in a matter of months.
And Trucy would have grown up with a mother.
