Under questioning by the police about the time of the murder, he tries not to remember where he was when Mr. Kristoph Gavin came home that night.

Apollo Justice felt dirty. Like he’d been used for something obscene– a perversion of justice. Mr. Wright had asked Apollo to be his defense attorney– but what he’d used him for was a pawn to manipulate the courtroom and cast suspicion on Mr. Gavin.
He shook like a leaf when he watched Phoenix Wright disappear from the courtroom lobby. He stared down at his fists and wished that he had punched the man harder.
He couldn’t believe it. He felt distant from the world, as if everything were far away and happening in a dream that only tangentially included him.
Until 20 minutes ago, Phoenix Wright had been his idol. Now Apollo just felt sick.
Phoenix had manipulated the court, basically perjured himself, stolen from a crime scene, and forced Apollo to present false evidence– all so that Apollo’s logic in the courtroom would lead to the arrest of Kirstoph Gavin. Apollo’s boss. Phoenix’s friend. Supposedly.
While it was happening around him.. the logic had seemed air tight. Obvious. Impossible to avoid. But now it slipped away like sand. It was like a magic trick.
If it was true, why would Mr. Wright need false evidence? If it was true, then why would Wright need to manipulate and steal to make people see the truth?
What if Mr. Gavin hadn’t done it? What if they found him guilty anyway, and it was all Apollo’s fault? Kristoph couldn’t have done it. Why would he have? Why kill this man he didn’t even know? Mr. Gavin would never kill someone! Would he?
Apollo yelped out loud when he felt a hand touch his shoulder as he sat miserably on the bench in the lobby. He looked up to find a detective grimacing down at him.
“Sorry, Mr. Justice. We’re going to need to ask you some questions about your boss.”
