Summary: He’d surprised her, and it showed in the flush of blood to her face and the hammering of her heart that he could surely feel with his arms draped around her body. “Is that what you called me for, glimmerous fop? A reprimand?”
“A reprimand?” he repeated, as if trying the word on his tongue. “You know, I think that might be exactly what you need, mein liebchen.”
His voice purred in her ear, using the pet name that she’d made him promise only to use when they were alone. Klavier searched down her body, and as he snatched to grab her wrists tightly she felt the cold edge of metal in one of his hands, now pressing to hers. Ema sputtered , the cool kiss of metal on the edge of her hands sending a shiver up her spine. She was sure she’d gone red to her shoulders under her coat and dress shirt.
“You’re kidding me.” She looked up at him with a twist of her torso. “Klavier, you can’t be serious..”
“Tch.” He jerked her wrists behind her back, pressing them together, pinned against him. “I’m very serious, liebchen. And for now, you ought to call me Prosecutor Gavin.”
