Hello!I wanted to ask: is it good to read other interpretations about a certain media (like a movie) to develop media literacy or something similar to it?
Reading more and different interpretations of a thing you want to better understand is always good.
When you think about other people’s opinions of a thing you like, it introduces you to new information.
Even when you’re reading opinions and interpretations that are objectively wrong you get something out of it– it forces you to think about and understand why those arguments are wrong, which helps you reinforce your own understanding of the subject.
The more diverse opinions and interpretations of something that you read, the better you are to understand and discuss not only the subject itself, but your own opinion of the subject and why you hold it.
So. Big yes, anon. Big yes.
