Does anybody know why Kristoph’s dog’s name is the Italian word for clams??
The same way his brother’s name is “Piano” in german (Tbf in Japanese his name is “Echo”, not much better).
Either the localizers didn’t put much effort into it and thought “Vongole” was a fancy word that fitted a pompous ass like Kristoph (Have to check the italian translation to see if they gave her another name or kept it as Vongole), or she has as ridiculous a name in Japanese and the translators went “It’s free real estate”.
I am *desperate* to know if she has a ridiculous name in the original Japanese as well.
Like, at least with “Klavier” the German is a theme. I sort of expected “Vongole” to be German as well and be able to headcanon “Oh, Klavier named her”.
But no. It’s Italian. Googling it brings up spaghetti recipes for the most part.
Kristoph did you name your dog after spaghetti?? 🤣🤣🤣
