I do respect the Ace Attorney fandom for managing to stay active even though they haven’t gotten a mainline game in forever. I got into Attack on Titan a week after the anime it was over and it was nowhere near as active (at least in the places I’m in). That shit was kinda dead. It is also true that, in my experience, the AA fandom interacts a lot more with art and fic than other, bigger fandoms.

I don’t know where I am going with this, I just think it’s interesting.

I’ve noticed this too, and Ace Attorney (thankfully) has the benefit of being one of those old, entrenched fandoms that predate the current ‘fast fashion cycle of fandom.

There are people still in the fandom who have been posting about it since all the way back when it made its way to the states in 2005.

Likewise it might not have gotten a new game in a long time, but lately the series has been refreshed with the release of remasters– and the remasters of the second trilogy are particularly important, giving fresh access to the second half of the games to people who didn’t have, and couldn’t emulate, DS and 3DS software.
