Something I realized because people like to think that Manfred Von Karma would face the death penalty: he wouldn’t
In Japan, people do not get the death penalty unless they’ve killed three people. Manfred killed two, and if we’re going by California standards, the death penalty was abolished in 1972. So the hybrid mess that is Japanifornia would have Manfred Von Karma serving life in prison if the bullet marinating in his shoulder possibly didn’t do him in first
Oh this is an interesting bit of real world trivia but I don’t think it holds up in the Ace Attorney universe unfortunately.
Dahlia we know for certain was executed and I don’t believe she was convicted for three murders. (But my memory’s spotty)
On the other hand we know for sure that Simon Blackquill was going to be executed and he was only convicted for ONE murder.
Ah, I forgot the massive variable that is dystopia
Fingers crossed that Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth and the gang will eventually help abolish the death penalty. 🤞😩
