I’ve been trying to decide if I think Klavier’s birth name is simple ugly and unpleasant to him, or if it’s his father’s name.
I’m curious what the consensus is– maybe it’ll help push me one way or the other.
Klavier’s birth name
is a name he considers ugly (maybe Clyde or Clive or something)
is the same name as his father
is Kristopher
In the French and German versions they give him the name “Konrad” (Yes, with K). I get the change in the German version, but I got surprised that the French version also used it instead of Klavier. And I’ve seen that name being used as Klavier’s birth name in some fanfictions (And honestly I’m also part of that “Konrad was his birth name” train).
So I’m torn between choosing both “ugly name” (sorry to any Conrads out there ^^’) or “father’s name” (Or worse, “grandpa’s name”)

Honestly I could see it being Konrad. I could even see that additionally being his father’s or grandfather’s name!!

Yeah, it was funny seeing how in 3 of the translations they went thourgh the process of “His name is "Echo”, so let’s give him a german sounding name that also plays with sound/music" and in the other 2 versions they just… chose a normal sounding name that looked german and called it a day.
ngl, that has helped my theory of “the Gavins are Old Money and proably descendants of Sholmes”, so not complaining much XD.
Big agree on the “old money Gavins” headcanon!
I hadn’t considered the idea that they might be descended from Sholmes before…. but now I AM considering it 🤔
