One of the worst feelings of being fictionkin or a fictive in fandom spaces is coping with and trying to ignore that feeling that you know better than other fans what is or isn’t true about the story and characters.
This feels especially bad when you know you have engaged with less of your source material than objectively more engaged fans have of the material.
Like, I actively know that this is terrible fandom etiquette and I always strive to restrain myself from telling someone that I know better than them because its my kintype.
But the urge. The urge is there, and it must be actively fought.
