I want more non-porn fics where most of the cast is known to be having or have had casual sex with one another and it’s not a big deal.

I mean. I also want more porn fics like this too.
But I find it deeply frustrating that for the most part in fic, porn is the ONLY time polyamory and casual sex come up.
i honestly think poly and positively framed casual sex get left out of fanfic so much because for all the communities’ claims that they’re sex positive, the idea of ethical non-monogamy is way too nuanced and emotionally mature for many writers/readers of fanfic, who can’t even handle a divorced couple who are friends or god forbid a bisexual who actually dates people of multiple genders to grasp, let alone write. i had a reader furiously attack me once saying my character could NEVER cohabitate peacefully and in a positive way with his ex wife and their son for the kid’s sake, and having his boyfriend over for dinner with the fam was toxic and gross and all this other shit even though it was clearly very positive and pleasant for everyone in the story. like whoa there babe. tell me you’re 15 without telling me
Yup! Your thoughts and experience here completely reflect my own, and its just so super disappointing to see. V_V
I feel like found families should super casually hook up with each other sometimes, just for something to do, cuz why not?
