airyairyaucontraire:

My nieces are watching my Jem DVDs, they’re up to “The Rock Fashion Book,” and I still LOVE “Off and Runnin’” so much.

Reasons:

  • The Misfits’ total confidence that they can match or excel a professionally designed and shot photobook by taking photos themselves, at an amusement park full of people who don’t know what they’re doing, and I know this is most likely a practical limitation of what could be asked of the animators but they each have only one outfit.
  • That this is happening because Pizzazz found the professional photographer they’d hired annoying and threw him off her private beach
  • That Stormer wants to kiss the teddy bear and Pizzazz snatches it off her out of sheer meanness (but also Stormer why)
  • The whole SONG, absolutely one of their best – I always love the Misfits’ songs that are simply about brazen self-confidence (like “Universal Appeal” and “I Am a Giant”)
  • “We may have our ups and downs, but we’re still better than the rest of the clowns” – the Misfits acknowledge being clowns, but superior clowns
  • The rollercoaster track shots! The movement and complexity! It’s so cool!
  • (My nephew is now doing the Robot to “Who Is She Anyway?”)
  • I mean it scarcely needs to be said but they all look really hot
  • The spent “hahhh” sigh at the end
