Sealioning is a type of internet harassment where someone will aggressively target an individual with repeated messages under the guise of “just wanting a fair debate” and “just wanting evidence”, compared to a human DOS or denial-of-service attack.

What you were doing wasn’t exactly sealioning, but it was definitely an obnoxious form of disagreement where you acted like you were on some kind of moral high horse just because you “acted polite” despite the actual content of your message being nothing short of rude and dehumanizing. Frankly, wingnut, I find all of your replies are brimming with irony, because you’re criticizing us for something you did. Proshippers don’t care if people disagree with them or not. That’s kinda the whole point of being ship-and-let-ship. What we take issue with is the constant false allegations of real harm coming from purity police who can’t handle feeling grossed-out every once in awhile.

You say we have to “check our preferences” to make sure we like stuff for the right reasons? Why? Do you find fans of GTA repulsive? Do you think fans of true crime documentaries are suspicious? Do you question everyone who chooses Renegade options in Mass Effect? What about people who have been reading and writing murder mystery novels for over a century?

Why do you feel entitled to know why people enjoy the fiction they do?

The thing you have to understand is that random strangers don’t owe you jack shit. Everyone has some individual responsibility to develop their own internal sense of morality, but it is not your job to oversee that on behalf of other people. People can like fiction for so many different reasons, including no reason at all, and it’s actually incredibly fucking rude to try to “"debate”“ people who are just minding their business not hurting anyone in the slightest. Nobody owes you politeness, especially when you come at them with condescending messages like this.

So, with all due respect, DeepFriedWingnut; Go fuck yourself.
