Okay friend, I see that you’re a little confused, so I’m going to help you the best that I can.

“Proship” is not an objective term that you can use to describe a ship. It’s not actually *supposed* to be used to describe a ship at all.

The term “proship” was coined to describe the philosophy of “ship and let ship.” Proship technically describes a person, not a fictional pairing.

However, we have to acknowledge that pro-censorship fans who want to control what other fans do with their ships *do* use it to describe ships.

The problem is, every single pro-censorship fan uses the term “proship” to describe any ship that they *personally* feel uncomfortable about.

There’s not any objective criteria for “proship” that all people who describe themselves as “antis” can agree on. I have personally witnessed (repeatedly!) one anti attacking another anti over something that one considered “proship” and the other one did not.

To take Rebecca x Wesker for example–

Rebecca is an 18 year old adult at the beginning of the Resident Evil series. She is an employed professional in the criminal justice sector who lives on her own.

However, some pro-censorship fans will still describe the relationship between Wesker and Rebecca as “problematic” or specifically “pedophilic” because they infantilize her and consider her a “child” despite her being a legal and functional adult.
