Thinking about age gap relationships (trying to think of some good f/o imagines for the person who requested them) and it made me remember something funny about us and our partner.
We have only a six year age gap (sinister is the older) but because our partner’s body is baby-face and we often tend to be the more outgoing ones in social interactions than they do– we have been repeatedly mistaken for being their parent in incidental social situations.
It happens less often now that our partner is in their thirties too, but when they were in their mid/young 20s it was very common for out relationship to be misinterpreted by strangers like sales people etc. Then there’s that moment of awkwardness when we would correct them (if we bothered to, we didn’t always.)
I don’t like, have a moral for this anecdote. I just think it’s funny, especially now that we know some of our system members are some of their members parents and vice versa.
No, wait, I do have a moral. Other people’s snap perceptions of you are bullshit, and nobody gets to judge your relationship from the outside.
