One thing I love about Steven Universe is that for gems, all attraction and romance is queer attraction and romance. In gem culture there is no culturally normative model to experience, it’s all taboo.
Low-key like very low-key I wish Apollo had hit Phoenix just a couple more times in Turnabout Trump.
And in like every case after that one.
I don’t know I just have this unwavering hostility towards Phoenix ever since Turnabout Trump. And i want that hostility that i feel towards him to be shown through Apollo.
Like whenever Phoenix wanted to be all mysterious and cryptic, Apollo just sucker punches him. And says “nope try again. Come at me correct”
…see, I can see why it can be read as a metaphorical death, the death of the Godot persona and the return of Diego Armando, but he was literally, on a physical level, alive at the end of the game.
“some people like to theorize he’s alive”
LOL this is literally the first time I’ve ever seen anybody say he died there.
If he had died I think the characters might have you know… Reacted to that.
It would be *poetic* if he died there but I don’t think anything indicates that he did.
