Demiromantic self-shipper here.I think at one point I had f/o that was platonic. But this was before I realized you could self-ship outside of a romantic context or knew about terms such as “f/o” and “self-shipping”(god I love doing a thing before knowing there was a term for it). I didn’t have a good relationship with my older siblings when I was in school, so at the time when I was really into AOT, I made a self-insert where the character Hanji was my older sister because…like I said I had a terrible relationship with mine. And it’s still shit.But in the end though, the self-insert became an OC after awhile. I still use that OC for rps with a friend of mine, but it being my self-insert to pretend I have an older sibling that loves me is now faded and in the past now.But currently now, I don’t really have f/os who are platonic or familial in anyway. Unless you count Rin from the game Boyfriend To Death as a non-romantic f/o. I don’t wanna date him but my god do I wanna protect that little bean…and was disappointed to see that he becomes a datable bastard in the sequel game.But other than that, all my f/os end up becoming a f/o when I learn more about them. Which is very fitting for me, lol.
