a site that allows works that profit off their oppression
This is a meaningless and incorrect statement. First of all, AO3 doesn’t profit AT ALL. Second of all, hosting fanfiction doesn’t profit on anyone’s oppression. Other people’s fanfic is not about you.
And no, I am not talking about porn of fictional children, although that is also repulsive, there is nsfw content of actual fucking minors on there.
You may find RPF to be gross and in bad taste, but it’s still not illegal.
If you’re gonna screenshot my post, tag me
Anyways, making content that promotes things like racism, ableism, homophobia, etc. Does mean the author and the platform they are on is profiting from it! Monetary profit is not the only kind of profit.
Also yes… writing content of real children is illegal. And even if it wasn’t, legality is not the arbiter of what is or isn’t okay. It isn’t just “gross and in bad taste” it is morally repulsive and fundamentally WRONG.
I didn’t tag you because you have “proship dni” on your blog.
So why are you interacting with me?
Fiction that depicts racism, homophobia ect exists in every type of media.
Fictional content about real people in not illegal in the United states as long as it is clearly fictional. That’s why you can use US presidents and Elvis in fiction.
What you believe is morally wrong is not what everyone believes is morally wrong. You can not force your morals on everyone.
