hi hello ! i don’t really know how to approach this so i’ll ramble a bit if that’s okay ? feel free to ignore if you’re uncomfortable esp because i’m a minor (15+) and stuff or if you generally don’t want such things in your askboxfirst of all i keep seeing you in the tags and i wouldn’t consider myself a proshipper but recently ive been visiting a show i liked when i was a kidi guess ive been selfshipping with a character from that show lately and while i myself am also a minor there’s still a considerable age gap between us where a lot of like . antis would raise their eyebrowi know that the community of that show doesn’t bat an eye when you’d just ship your oc with a character that’s younger than you so i could also just do that but it feels too simple.obviously it doesn’t reflect my irl desires for reasons i don’t think i’d have to mentioni don’t really know what to do, do i just continue to keep it secret ? maybe add them as a platonic f/o or pretend theyre just a favourite character of mine so that i can still talk about them ? or make a proship sideblog entirely?just wanted to get this off my chest, again, feel free to ignore
Hey, anon. I’m glad you could get this off your chest
Whenever I read about things like this, it makes me feel like being friends with antis must be really stressful, like feeling like you’re being watched and having to make sure everything you say and do is completely acceptable all the time. I hope you can get to a place where you don’t have to feel that way any more.
My advice for self shipping with your f/o is this.
I think the best thing to do is create a separate blog, completely divorced from the blogs that your friends who are antis know about. Block their accounts from the separate blog when you set it up.
Post and reblog your f/o content on the new blog, where no one will be expecting anything in particular from you. Follow accounts that are interested in your fandom and are not vocal antis.
You can keep your main content on your original blog, and only sign in to the separate one for your f/o content. But you might find yourself ending up more and more on your new blog.
Whatever you do, anon, I hope you can enjoy your f/o and your fandom!
