yo, i can’t sleep so i’m gonna be dissecting/debunking this terrible post i saw in the proship tags

“what makes writing an incestuous or a pedophilic relationship in fiction wrong?” nothing, glad we could clear that up. good work, everyone, let’s hit the showers

“the answer is romanticization” ugh there y’all go again with that word you love to throw around. do you even know what it means? can you give me a single source proving that it’s a bad thing? when the fuck has an adult ever been like, “i saw grooming in this danny phantom fanfiction and assumed it was a good thing, i didn’t know it would hurt this kid!” (kids falling for it doesn’t count, they’re allowed to be stupid — and i’m not about to let manipulative adults off the hook by blaming the tools they used)

“what makes pedophilic fictional relationships wrong?” nothing. pedophilic relationships are bad irl because, uh, there’s a real fucking child being abused and manipulated. this cannot happen in fictional settings because the child isn’t real — the writer controls every aspect of their reaction. please stop comparing irl child abuse to drawings

“most if not all, fiction published to Archive of our Own that fall under this category romanticize it” mhm. good for them. why should i care? you have yet to give a reason, let alone a source, proving why this is a problem

“they call it different names” yeah??? because it IS fucking different??? please don’t tell me that you think loli is comparable to csem (of course you do, that’s the point of this post. ugh)

It must be really easy to get through life when you can just throw a tantrum over every little thing and then pat yourself on the back for how “moral” you are.

Good post, op. This was cathartic to read.
