All I hear is “science isn’t real if I think it’s icky!!!!”
Okay but like, this post has been on my mind for the past half hour, and i cant help thinking of the parallels between this and conspiracy theorists.
My mother has fallem into conspiracy theorys in the last few years, so i have a bit of experience with them, and like???
The fact that this person and probably lots of other antis wont listen to scientific research and proper sources if they dont fit with their world view. This is exactly the same as conspiracy theorists.
The fact that if you try to argue with them, they just tell you youre disgusting and a pedo, and they dont even bother listening to what you have to say. This just makes me think of the way conspiracy theorists will call you sheep and not listen to what you have to say.
Both of these groups of people only read/listen to things that are in their favor and “prove” to them that they are correct on their idea of the world.
Idk im probably not explaining this well, its hard to articulate my feelings sometimes, but my experience dealing with my conspiracy theorist mother and what ive seen of antis just seem so similar
Yeah, as someone who also has unfortunate contact with those groups; is the same kind of thinking leading to the same kind of behavior.
