do people earnestly think that an independent artist would have a chance in hell if they decided to sue a media corporation if said corporation plagarized their artistic work? be realistic

hey remember when hot topic and disney decided to print a bunch of disney fan art on their t shirts and the fan artists’ hands were tied because it was technically disney’s property to use??? hey remember when disney sent legal threats to small artists making baby yoda throw blankets on etsy and the small artists had absolutely no recourse at all??? hey remember when walt fucking disney himself plagarized oswald the lucky rabbit and then the disney corporation managed to manipulate the legal system so that the character remained their sole legal property for a hundred goddamn years??? stop playing pretend.

like let me be crystal clear: when you have a conflict where the resolution relies on one side having more money and resources to throw at it to ensure it turns out in their favor, the entity that has more money is going to win. even if they are wrong. even if you don’t think it’s right. this is how the legal system fucking works. assuming everything is fair and equal just because the laws on the books say so is foolish point blank period.
