🌟 Embrace diverse voices and perspectives in fiction.
🌟 Understand that some fiction is going to make you uncomfortable or disturb you, and that’s okay.
🌟 Realize that not all fiction is about you, not all fiction is for you.
🌟 Recognize that just because a piece of fiction disgusts you does not make that fiction immoral.
🌟 Remember that not all fiction reflects the desires of it’s author or it’s readers.
🌟 Recognize that survivors, victims, mentally ill, neurodivergent, marginalized and disenfranchised people are sometimes going to write fiction that is not safe, comfortable, easy, palatable, or comforting for you to read.
🌟 Accept that consuming or creating fiction that depicts harm does not undermine the willpower or morals of a reader. Fiction does not program you to believe that it’s okay to do harm.
