One of the most frustrating things about being fictionkin is when the canon material in this universe presents someone that you knew as nothing but a joke. Just completely strips their character out and makes them a punchline with basically no character at all.
Despite the fact that the person you knew was a person, with a full existence, dignity, hopes, goals, friends, etc etc.
But nope, just a joke in canon.
And you can’t be mad at the author because it’s not like they’re dissing your friend on purpose. They just wrote some fiction, they don’t know it’s something relevant to you.
And you can’t be mad at the fandom, because all they have to work with is the character as presented in canon.
So all you can do is like, sit there and be disappointed that nobody ascribes any worth or dignity to your friend and it’s nobody’s fault but it SUCKS!
