@ the child beating their parents post: that screencap was actually taken WILDLY out of context and is from a post where that person is talking about how minors online laugh at the idea that they can be abusive to adults; the OP in the screencap was not advocating for any kind of abuse, they were talking about how kids (teens especially) CAN be abusive to parents/adults and how it’s not any less abusive because of their age.

While I agree with much of the post– obviously minors can be abusive to adults– the addition about children abusing their parents is simply not something that I can agree with nor is the language about “beating brats”.
Sinister system grew up in an extremely abusive home. Both emotionally and physically abusive.
Part of that abuse was the abuse against our brother, who was the “golden child”.
Our brother was never properly taught to behave as a child; our parents literally gave him whatever he wanted.
When our parents punished us for something it was in the form of a physical beating, or screaming at us.
Due to this combination of factors, our brother grew up believing that screaming at people and physically abusing them is how you get your way with people.
So when he got older, and bigger, and our parents tried to say “no” to something, he would scream and swear, and break things and psychically hurt our father.
Our brother was not the abusive one in this situation.
Our parents, who taught our brother that abuse was the way to get what you want, were the abusive ones toward him.
