sorry if this sounds odd or if i’m misremembering/misphrasing but i remember you mentioning a while back that the good parts of homestuck are acts 1-5? what happens in act 6 and what’s bad about it? again, sorry if this is phrased oddly, i’m autistic and not so good at phrasing/articulating things sometimes
This is phrased just fine and is very understandable to us <3
Act six
- was subject to a series of lengthy delays
- ballooned into much, much longer than the author originally intended
- suffered from the author’s backlash to their own hype and fame
- suffered from the author’s growing disdain for their fandom and for the narrative of homestuck itself
Act six
- relies heavily on meta-text rather than internal action
- doubles down on using the characters as mouthpieces for the author’s opinions
- introduces characters the fandom had been excited for only to turn them into shallow parodies of the fandom itself
- drops the narrative arcs for beloved characters from the first half of the comic
- solves the central narrative with a series of meta-textual deus ex machinas
- admonishes the audience for wanting anything else from the story
