Proshippers who are anti-para upset me. While not being paraphiliac myself, I am part of a proship group that is pro-para. Cause we believe that thought crimes aren’t real, and that para disorders deserve support like any other mental illness, as long as those people are against contact. We invited someone to the group chat who was proship, making it clear in multiple ways the group was pro-para ahead of time. Yet they still ended up joining, taking screenshots, leaving the group, and made a callout post to their own group chat about our group, specifically me, for being supportive of non-contact. Saying we were all dangerous for it. “This isn’t proshipping, this is genuine mental illness, just avoid these folk.” Yes, we know it’s genuine mental illness. That’s the point. We support them cause someone has to be the help that everyone talks about when saying “seek help”. Everyone supports mental illness and coping in healthy ways that don’t harm others until those symptoms get ugly. Then apparently you just shun them, leave them isolated, cause that’s absolutely gonna help them figure out how to cope.
