when i read takes that boil down to “its ok to write murder in fiction because you end someone’s life, but rape in fiction is not okay because the victim has to live with the trauma”, i can only think that these people think there is no way to recover from the trauma of sexual abuse, which is VERY sad to see honestly.
(edit) idk maybe that was a nothing post, i wanted to express that there is life– and GOOD life – after abuse. you CAN recover, and yes it’s hard, but it is so worth it. to see so many people suggest that rape victims would be better off being murdered is horrid.
This ain’t a nothing post, this is so fucking important.
Whenever I see “sexual assault is the worst thing that can happen to you ever” from an anti I get sad.
