This is the perfect way to talk about how antis may talk about “normalization” in fiction, when they’re actually normalizing violence in reality.

See, when you read/watch/play something in fiction, there’s a barrier between you and the action that’s being portrayed. You know it’s in a story, which gives you the motivation to ask “would this be right or wrong to do in real life.”

But when you see someone real in your life doing something harmful, for instance, cyberbullying, harassing and threatening someone online, there is no layer of seperation.

It’s easy to think “well that person is doing it, and I approve of them, so doing that action must be fine!”
