I don’t know how much this helps, but here is something that we remind ourselves regarding self and delusion.
Being plural and being singlet are both completely internal experiences with no method of outside verification.
There is in fact no way to verify to outside people that anything like the ‘self’ exists at all.
A single ‘self’ existing in a body is just as likely to be a delusion as multiple ‘selves’ existing in one body.
We are only socially conditioned to associate one self with one body.
