Hello, I hope you don’t mind, but can you explain I’m very simple terms, what’s happening with A03? I keep seeing people mentioning it but no one’s really explaining what’s happening, and some are even claiming it’s being shut down?
AO3 isn’t being shut down. It is being attacked by people who want it shut down. First via illegal harassment in the form of CSAM spam to its volunteers, then via public opinion campaign, and now via legalistic attack.
If you want a more detailed explanation than that, you’ll have to ask someone else, unfortunately.
This is all an escalation of fan wank that started years ago on livejournal.
