I miss the time before capitalism got around to sterilizing, taming, repackaging and selling fandom for mass consumption.
I genuinely GENUINELY miss when being an obsessive comic, cartoon, anime fan was deeply uncool, and nobody bothered to try to make fandom palatable for normies, squares and the like.
