Love (hate) that AO3 and NaNoWriMo– two nonprofits that started as grassroots organizations of creatives banding together and creating a community– are both currently under attack.
Are there valid concerns about how the organizations are run? Sure, absolutely. As with any organization once it gets large enough.
But if you cannot see the harm in bandwagoning and witch hunting against two of the largest promoters of creative free expression, writing and literacy during this time of increasing book banning and censorship– then I have to wonder if you’re actually thinking about it.
ETA: I have decided that the AO3 is too much of a hot button issue to be worth commenting on and fighting about right now. Post closed.
