The characters aren’t real. They are not real people, and they literally cannot experience harm. You cannot harm a fictional character!
I, the author, am a real person. I am obviously consenting, because I’m the one writing the story. My readers are also real people. And I tag all my stories clearly, so anyone who clicks on my story to read it has ALSO consented. If they see something they don’t like, they can revoke consent by stopping reading.
And consent applies to real life cnc (consensual non-consent) and rape-play. Both adult people engaged in a kink scene are consenting. If one of them wants the scene to stop, they have safe words, and the other person stops immediately.
If one of those people is not consenting, it’s not a kink scene, it’s rape. If they started off consenting, use their safe word, and the other person does not stop, it is now rape.
Do you see how consent works? Both real adult people have to say “yes” and continue saying “yes”.
Both people consenting: good to go
One person not consenting: stop 🛑
If you don’t consent to read or participate in rape fantasy, that’s ok! Don’t participate. But leave the real life consenting human adults who DO like it alone.
