Calling someone a pedo or a predator could ruin their life.
I once knew someone who was unjustly accused of being a pedo (by someone irl, not here) and they even had to go through the legal system, through cops, through all of this mess, to prove that they weren’t in fact a pedo.
It ruined their life. They lost friends and continue to lose friends because people assume it’s fact.
Not only that, but I’m a victim of CSA. I was SA’d multiple times. Not molested, not diddled. Fully sexually assaulted. As a young child.
So when you tell survivors that they’re the pedos, for reading a ship that brings them comfort, you are actively taking their abuser’s side in gaslighting them.
It ruins careers, it ruins mental health, it ruins lives.
And if you think ruining lives and pushing people to the brink of suicide over fiction you dislike then I’m going to assume that it’s not about the media consumption or your morals. I’m going to assume that you just derive genuine joy from hurting others. Like my sadistic psychopath abuser.
Because at what stage does it stop being about the media and just starts being a dick and twisted way to have fun hurting others?

Yes, some of them very genuinely do realize this.
For some of them, some of the time, the *intent* in calling a person a pedo or a predator is to ruin their life.
Often, because the person they’re calling a predator enjoys a fictional relationship they don’t like.
Calling them a predator or a pedo is like calling in a drone strike on this person.
They know the word has power, and they are using it as an attack.
