And of course, the people crying out for more femslash will crucify you if you write anything beside uwu beans snuggling and holding hands.
you know one of the reasons that male x male pairings are so popular in fanfiction?
It’s because the relationships are allowed to be messy. The characters are allowed to fuck up, and be unhinged, and hurt one another, and come back to each other, and be a little violent, etc etc.
THAT is why slash fiction is so popular. Because it avoids all kind of social and emotional issues that come up the second you bring a woman-identified character into a romantic relationship.
