Right? I can’t imagine looking at that picture and not thinking it looked like a sexual act or sexual metaphor.
Honestly, maybe all this is so on my mind because recently we were thinking about, and looking for the imagery to express through writing, the way non-sexual magical beings could experience intimacy and vulnerability in a way that the human mind understands is sexual for them.
While I was writing I was thinking to myself ‘yeah, this is borderline pornographic, if not outright pornographic’, and I deliberately used a lot of the types of words and imagery you would see in a sex scene without anything actually physically sexual going on.
And then looking back on it, yeah, I could probably get away with putting it in a YA novel 🤣
