to the anon who had a psychotic trigger from a fanfic: i sincerely get it. that is harm that you experienced! that is, however, not the author’s fault. i have been in that exact situation, and it can be really frustrating seeing the only advice be “get off the internet if ur THAT mentally ill.” i’d reccomend filtering the tags containing your triggers, or if you’re in a bad place having friends vet fanfics for you to make sure they’re safe for you in case the trigger is untagged. i hope you’re feeling less panicky now then you were while writing the ask, and that you’re able to avoid the fics that caused you distress. the author isn’t at fault, but you’re not at fault either, you just need to learn some extra skills to help you navigate the internet. god knows i had to haha(sorry for the rambly ask LMAO)
Thank you for taking time to share your perspective! 🫂
