The whole confessions account thing is so ridiculous, it’s so sad that there are people out there making a burn book in this, the year of Our Lord, 2024. I’ve had friends of mine remove their work & get slated on that account and it’s been so disheartening. Don’t let the bastards get you down, people! Your creativity is loved and valued.
As I said before, I haven’t seen nor heard what exactly happened at the confessions account, so I want to be careful about judgement. But it’s very sad to hear people were made to remove their works from AO3 and feel no longer safe to share their passion and their stories.
That’s not what fandom is.
Fandom is for everyone. Which doesn’t mean that everyone has to like everything they encounter but it means that everyone is free to share their thoughts. It means that everyone is free to either enjoy that or ignore it.
It means fandom is supposed to be fun for everyone and it means fandom is no place for hate.
