It happened to me. My fav has been Sokka/Lance’d.Canonically? Admittedly, he has little screentime. But he is an angry middle aged man of average appearance and was an antagonist. He’s an unhinged asshole in canon. In the fandom? Jfc. He’s no longer late thirties washed up loser jackass no no NO now he’s conventionally attractive early twenties silly billy himbo who is so so stupid but also so so smart an absolute Maverick who just Behaves like a silly guy sometimes! I just…wish people in fandom bragging about their own media literacy skills had more than five character tropes. Please just more than five? Please no more turning my BPD darlings into Sokka PLEASE I want a comfort character I can relate to there are so few characters that have issues I find this relatable lol. I don’t want more Lance and Sokka!!I have BPD and am not an asshole so asshole characters are comforting to me because I process my own issues with emotional regulation issues by reading their stories and I can’t DO that if y’all ‘I can only like people like you AFTER I’ve fixed them’ keep Sokka’ing all the toxic characters who tf is left??This is just a venty rant though please do what you want with any characters I’m just asking y’all to be honest about it instead of virtue signaling?
