Hey, whump writers, can I ask a genuine question that I genuinely mean no harm over?:
Why do some whump writers not name the characters?
theory: leaving names out genericizes their writing and makes it more widely applicable to (and enjoyable by) people who like whump in general but don’t care about someone else’s OC.
IE: they get more engagement because readers can project whatever characters they want on the writing.
