✍️ The goal of creating fiction is not always to craft a story that is comfortable or fun for the reader.
✍️ Likewise, not all readers will find the same subject matter and topics comforting or fun.
✍️ It is always okay to create fiction that others find upsetting, disturbing, grotesque, pointless, cruel, disgusting, etc.

People who love to judge you and think of you as someone that reads fucked up stuff because you condone it should have this tattooed in their brains.
I will always love Tumblr because of all the internet spaces, it is one of the few that keeps in mind people are not stupid and can enjoy questionable material without imitating it.
Which reminds me of one of my favourite quotes of JTHM:
This is so important bc I have actual real anxiety about the things I write bc of the state of purity culture right now. “Will I get cancelled if this ever gets published bc it’s kind of dark?” “Will an agent even look at this bc it’s not happy enough to publish?”
Like I don’t want to write happy shit it is actually bc of my own trauma please leave me alone and stop dictating the way that I work through it.
