sam-at-hogwarts:

From what I have seen it’s a couple fandom, I’m partial to the wizarding world a few of the popular ones have been deleted and several others are mentioning that they plan on taking their stuff down soon due to the issue

I found out yesterday which was too late to save breath mints and battle scars

Alot of the Information is on tiktok, Twitter, and bluesky

Thank you so much for answering my question!

For anyone who is as curious as I am, I hunted down a little more information on this!

It seems to currently be a major situation in the Dramione fandom (Draco/Herminone) where it appears that someone was binding and more importantly *selling* physical copies of other people’s fanfiction and making a profit off of them.

It should go without saying that it is deeply unethical (and probably illegal) to make a profit off of someone elses’ writing without their permission.

I certainly can’t blame any authors who are taking their works down after having them stolen like this.

For the record, in response to that seller’s comment: AO3 is absolutely NOT public domain!
