I think I figured it out. I think I figured out the origin of the huge flood of spam, as well as why we’re suddenly being followed by a number of new, avatar-less but seemingly legitimate blogs.
Tumblr is suggesting our blog to people when they sign up.
There’s some tag or keyword that people are picking when they sign up for tumblr that is suggesting our blog as one to follow.
If any of our recent followers with new accounts could confirm if this is the case, that would be amazing. Feel free to send a message on anon.
