Whumpee ending up in captivity after being snatched and kidnapped from somewhere is a beloved classic but another scenario worthy of lots of love: whumpee (especially from some sort of a team) being taken captive after walking into enemy territory.
Perhaps they accidentally stumbled there, perhaps they were sent on a mission…
Either way, they soon find themselves surrounded. Maybe the leader themselves comes and immediately orders them restrained (or worse…)
A very hyperspecific image i have is of whumpee caught in the middle of a thick autumn forest that happens to belong to their enemies and a bit later us seeing them trot shakily over a cliff – chained up, gagged and blindfolded -, being led somewhere, one of the enemy teammates shoving their back, coldly saying “Walk.”
