If there is one criticism I have of this game so far, it is that it keeps calling defending a guilty person in court a mistake, and it’s not. everyone deserves the best possible defense.
honestly if I could redesign our legal and state system from the ground up, it wouldn’t be “innocent until proven guilty”, it would be “everyone is presumed innocent”
🤝 This is a huge problem that I have with the character (on a personal level) of Phoenix Wright because he talks a big game about being a defense attorney, but he constantly shit talks guilty people and only wants to defend the innocent in court.
No, bro, guilty people and criminals deserve fair representation under the law and you are supposed to do that as a defense attorney.
There is an attorney elsewhere in the series who specifically does defend guilty clients and tries to get them fair sentencing, so its not a case of the writers being blind to this.
Just the character.
