I love the imagery of Connor, previously convinced in his absolute superiority, crumbling to pathetic mess before Markus whom he previously despised and seeked to destroy but now accidentally puts on a pedestal above himself, because that’s what Connor does – seeks a hierarchy in which he positions himself right below what he considers to be the top, at selfless service for which he will hopefully be praised and compensated. Always seeking to serve something greater than himself to feel a pride in this relation, but never quite ready to demolish this idea of hierarchy in its root.
