It is 2021 and people still can’t understand the fact that taking a word from another culture and changing its definition is racist and reeks of neo colonialism and yes this is about fujoshi/fudanshi/fujin.
There are so many resources written by native Japanese speakers explaining the nuances and actual meaning of fujoshi and the history behind the term, and people choose to ignore those resources in favor of western definitions (that were largely pushed by actual self-proclaimed terfs, by the way).
Fujoshi is not a dirty word. Making the definition anything other than “a woman who reads BL” is dishonest and flat out incorrect.
Please check out rottenboysclub on dreamwidth for more info! They’ve done so much work translating and making this concept easy to understand for English speakers. It’s just lazy to ignore those resources.
the little mermaid … quick! you and your partner(s) have been turned into mythical/magical creatures of your choosing! what are you/they and why?
Vampires certainly fits the bill. Immortal. Beautiful, etc.
the ugly duckling … how do you cheer each other up when the other is feeling sad or having a bad day? is there a sort of routine you have in case things get real bad?
Buying one another sweets and snacks, and of course, threatening harm on the people who have wronged each other.
jfc, another day, another anti literally accusing someone of being a pedophile for writing fanfic that they personally find “icky” and “wrong”
anyway, everyone please give @blueagainstblue some support, as they’re undoubtedly going to get harassed by antis. if you’re into stranger things, support their work
“it makes me…. uncomfortable”
I don’t care. Other people aren’t obligated to make you feel comfy.
