seeing the “obviously we don’t care more about fictional characters than real people” bs i’ve seen a few antis spew is just really dumb to me.
like, you realize that by harassing a REAL person, damaging a REAL person’s mental health or putting them in danger over some stupid fandom bullshit literally IS caring about fictional characters more than real people????
that all of this “protect [insert character] 🥺” or “[insert character] protection squad 💪” bs isn’t protection at all because drawings don’t need fucking protection? and that this idea behind “protecting” fictional characters is usually just harassing artists out of fandom so that they’ll stop creating content of said character? which is just???? fucking gross????????
hurting real people because of what they do with fictional characters and worlds literally IS putting fake concepts first before real people. I don’t get why that’s so difficult to understand.
and if you think any fictional character matters more than any human being, then you’ll always be more of a threat to fandom than any shipper ever will.
