It always drove me nuts seeing antis and pro censorship people be a-okay with gore and extreme violence, but then they have a big problem with any sexual content or themes such as age gap relationships that aren’t even taboo, professor x student ships, etc. they just treat those themes like they’re worse than gore or treat it like it’s a special type of evil, which is ironic. Censorship doesn’t just stop at one thing. First, it’ll be the sex, then it will be the violence, then it will be LGBT themes, and it will keep going, and going, and going. Metaphorically, I personally describe censorship as a nuclear weapon. Yes, it can destroy sexual themes, the specific target antis are after, but it will also get to LGBT themes, violence, and content they personally like.
the pro-censorship crowd that loves gore and violence and hates anything to do with sex are so classically puritan. It’s hilarious when it’s not infuriating.
Censorship protects the expression of those in power and suppresses the expression of those not in power. Always.
