Hey, I hope it’s okay to ask this here, but lately I’ve been struggling with something… The feelings I have for my F/Os are very much real, but at the same time I’m hyper aware that they’re fictional and that, if given the circumstances, I would never enact our dynamic IRLIs that okay? To love a fictional character as if they were real, but also being aware that they’re not?
Anon, that is absolutely and totally okay.
I would go so far as to say that that is the typical experience that people who are not plural and not fictionkin have with their F/O.
Knowing that a character isn’t real doesn’t mean that your feelings aren’t real.
A person’s feelings aren’t always based in reality in general, but they’re still our real feelings.
